Live and Let Live !!

We live in a country which is named "Bharath Maata". Most of the major rivers of our country are named after women. There are so many female deities worshipped in this country. Yet we fail to respect the women who are in our lives, and the ones who are not in our lives in different ways. Women were always treated as objects, like their opinions didn't matter, like they have no wish, will and freedom to express their thoughts, denied of basic things in life such as education etc. We have come a long way from that. Times have changed. Now we see ladies prosper in all kinds of fields.

But why is it difficult for some men and women to understand it is the other gender who not only seek but also deserve the same privileges that they have or wish for. There is simply so much of gender discrimination in this society. We live in a patriarchal society where boys are always treated as though they matter the most. Girls and Boys are not raised the same way. Women are just not respected, period. The sexual assaults/ rapes have become daily headlines in our country. It hurts the women's modesty. Quoting Mahatma Gandhi - “Of all evils for which man has made himself responsible, none is so degrading, so shocking or as brutal as his abuse of the better half of humanity, the female sex (not the weaker sex)".  Rape not only hurts a woman physically but also mentally and there is a  social stigma surrounding it.

The disgusting thing to acknowledge here is infants, kids and elderly women are no exception to the rape in our country. Are our laws so fragile that there is increase in the number of cases day by day? Aren't the people afraid of the laws? Do they feel they can get away so easily? If that is the case, whose fault is it? Is Law and order to be blamed? Where shall we say that women are safe? - Not the public places, not schools, not colleges, not hospitals, not workplaces and not even in their own homes.

What values are being taught at homes that people behave like this? Humanity is in deep slumber. Don't these people, who do such heinous acts have any conscience? This is a country where values and morals are deep, wake up people before they are long gone! Oh and who is to blame when a rape happens....it is the VICTIM. Most of them in our country say that the problem is with the girl's dress, attitude or character. But the real problem lies in the psychology of the people. Whether a girl is wearing shorts or covering herself fully, she is being raped. Whether the girl is bold or meek she is being raped.

The leaders who are responsible for the well being of their citizens are involved in such gut wrenching acts. Few leaders and educated people as well have said things which are far beyond shocking or disgusting like " women who wear jeans , shirts and dress like men give birth to transgender children - Ranjit Kumar (botany professor, Kerala)” and “90% of rape cases are consensual- Dharamvir Goyat (Haryana congress committee)”.

The problem is girls and boys are not raised the way they should be. Boys and girls should be taught to respect a person regardless of gender; after all we are all humans. Girls should be taught to stand up for themselves. Most of the cases go unreported fearing the loss of reputation of the girl as well as the family. It's not something to be ashamed of. By complaining the wrong doers will be punished. More police officers should be recruited to deal with such cases. Every school, college and Work place must have sexual harassment complaints committee.

Women should be given 50% reservations in the Lok-sabha and the state assemblies instead of 33% which exists. There should be more women in politics so that women oriented problems can be addressed more effectively. According to the census of 2011 it was revealed that the ratio is 940 females per 1000 of males. We keep hearing how long the cases keep running in the courts. Changes should be in the existing laws regarding sexual harassment. People should be scared to even commit such gruesome crimes. So the punishment has to be real harsh like death penalty regardless of whether the crime is committed on a kid, woman or an old lady because a rape is a rape. There should be counseling centers for the rape victims.

There are different sets of laws for different classes of people. As thick are your pockets, so bleak are the laws to you. You can get away with almost any kind of crime. A child(Asifa)  got raped by the monsters and the so called "lawyers" of J&K have gone blind , they were protesting to prevent CRIME Branch of J&K police from producing a charge sheet against the accused. Deepika S Rajawat, a brave heart who had taken up the case was given life threats . These lawyers who swore to uphold the justice and who should fight for the truth and the right things are doing all kind of wrong things. What is your degree worth now that you have sinned by breaking your oath. And  these are the faggots who just want to divide people based on their religion , caste, community , boundaries etc.

Come on people , it's 21st century , ozone is depleting , there is no water, earth is becoming warmer day by day ; stop driving the wedges between people. Be kind to one another. Have some humanity. Protect each other like family. Teach your sons and daughters to have humanity, to be kind to one another. Be human enough to be called a human being.

  4. A man with dreams....
Needs a WOMAN with a vision.
Female infanticide is the intentional killing of a girl child due to the strong partiality for boys over girls by parents and communities. This result in da neglect of the basic rights of girls including more extreme level.

  8. No amount of constitutional modifications could mitigate these kind on problems, because all these sect of people have the passions of instinct stronger than reasoned interests. Only work around might be , their bringing up within a family and what the society has taught to them until 6-18 years of age as a whole.
